All About Onam



Onam is a very famous south festival. The festival often falls around the malayalam month chingam. The biggest and the most happening day in the carnival of Onam is Thiruvonam. There are a lot of activities that takes place all over the state on Onam. The Onam Celebration of the first day is marked by intricate floral carpets called Onam Pookalam.
Onam Pookalm is a colourful collection of flowers like a Rangoli on the floor. Tradition of decorating Onam Pookalm is extremply populr in South India especially in Kerala. Commenly used various flowers are used in Onam Pookalm designs include Kakka Poovu, Chemparathy, Thumba. Hanuman Kireedam, Mukkutti, Aripoo or Konginipoo and Chethi etc...

Kerala Onam Festival Songs
Onam Festival Songs is normally released with the festival of onam which is celebrated in Kerala state of India. The above king (Mahabali) said to have received a blessing from Lord Vishnu which enabled him to visit his people once in a year even after his time, as long as the world exists. So the Kerala people started celebrating that day with lot of food, games and cultural activities to welcome their beloved king.
